A juried high school art show at Rock Valley College is currently underway. Several Hononegah Art Students are participating in the event: (not in order) Ben Arellano, Alanna Arnold; Dominique Basile; Mia Dreher; Hana Ferguson; Alexzandra Fragosa; Matthew Hull; Audrey Humy; Sam Krane; Abigail Martin; Adam Pilgrim; Madeline Porter; Erica Amdal; Jodi Rhines. Their work is on display in the RVC Education Research Center and the second floor of RVC Library.

This year is the 76th year of the annual Rockford Art Museum (RAM) Young Artist Show. Students from public, private, and home schools are eligible to participate. The juried show is consistently the most popular exhibit of the year.
The high school division is open to students in grades 9-12. High School Art Teachers submitted nearly 1,100 pieces to the jurists this year.
Jurors Katie Martin-Meurer, Peck School of the Arts, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and Chris Sissons, Associate Profess or of Art, Rockford University chose 146 pieces representing 107 students from 16 area schools. An awards ceremony was held at RAM, on Sunday, March 5.
The artwork is currently on display through April 2.
Hononegah Art Teachers Arra Van Galder, Rebecca Robinson and Jennifer Decker submitted works by nine young artists: Min Dreher; Audrey Humy; Madeline Porter; Logan Praneis, Melissa Sanderson; Cecelia Schmitt; Jacob Shockley; Victoria Sweeney and Sophia Timmerman.
Cecelia Schmitt received Honorable Mention and Audrey Humy, Best of Show.
Their work is currently on display in Anderson Gallery, in the lower level of RAM, 711 North Main St. in Rockford.
