On Monday, Dec. 5, action recommenced at Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere, as the junior bowlers returned to the lanes after one week of rest. The break in between the bowling days must have been a good one, for the bowlers came back stronger and better than ever with all of the top scorers surpassing the 100 pin mark in the three categories of competitors.
As is the trend this bowling season, no one completed in the youngest league, the Cookies and Milk division.
However, one competitor did make it onto the high scorers bowling chart for the next category, the Bantams. Brooklynn Wilkinson scored a 114 with a 198 series to put her on top.
In the Preps division, Branndon Fowler had the highest score with a 159 and a 351 series. For the girls, Dakota Heatley had the highest game with a 116, and Maci McCoy had the highest series with a 262.
In the final division, the Junior/Majors, Chad Morgan had the highest boys score along with the highest overall score of the day. Morgan left the alley with the satisfaction of a 159 game with a 444 series.
For the girls, Morgan Dawley had the highest score with a 143 game and a 404 series.
The weather may be turning frosty outside, but the lanes were heating up inside Monday night for some good game play by the next generation of great bowlers.
