Amenda’s finish was fast enough to claim a new school record in the event and he will move on to the IHSA State Championship on Friday in Winnetka, IL.
Later in the 100 Yard Freestyle, it was Camden Leonard (sophomore) and Dylan Anderson (senior) who also claimed first and second; Leonard posted a time of 48.77 and Anderson finished in 49.79. Leonard will also move on to the state championship next weekend.
