J&J athletes bring home Illinois State Championship titles
Eleven J&J Tumbling and Trampoline Team athletes recently competed at the USA Gymnastics Illinois State Championships in Decatur, Ill.
Of the 11 athletes, the team now has eight newly crowned State Champions. In the Trampoline event, Kinzie Beyer (Milledgeville), Aliyah Quenzer (German Valley), and HaLeigh Rhode (Davis) brought home State Champion titles.
In the event of Tumbling, Molly Johnson (Pecatonica), Aliyah Quenzer (German Valley), Macy Thomas (Winnebago), and Sarah Thompson (Davis).
The State Championship competition is the first of two qualifying competitions for the USA Gymnastics National Championships to be held this summer and the team qualified in nine events.
The final competition of the season is on May 5-7th in Davenport, Iowa. The USA Gymnastics Region 4 Championships will be a three-day event for athletes from fourteen different states vying for their final opportunity to qualify for the summer’s nationals event.
The J&J Tumbling and Trampoline team will be attending the three-day event kicking off the competition on Friday with Senior Elite Tumblier Sarah Thompson and continuing through Sunday afternoon with athletes competing in Level 2 to Level 8 in all events of Trampoline, Tumbling, and Double Mini Trampoline. J&J offers recreational classes, Pre Team which is an introduction to the competitive aspect of the sport, and Competition team opportunities for Trampoline, Tumbling, and Double Mini Trampoline. Events held at USA Gymnastics sanctioned competitions.
