K-B Farms Inc., donates land to the Funderburg Conservation Area
In January of 2013 the Boone County Conservation District acquired 82-acres of important conservation land along the Piscasaw
Creek south of Woodstock Road. The 82-acre site became the Funderburg Conservation Area, which was purchased from K-B Farms as a very generous bargain sale. However, the location and topography along the road prohibited the creation of a public access and parking area.
In March of this year, K-B Farms Inc., solved the public access problem when it donated an acre of land along Woodstock Road on the west side of the Funderburg Conservation Area. This donation provides a location for a public entrance and enough area for a small parking area. The Boone County Conservation District recognized this generous and thoughtful gift at their April 23 Board meeting by presenting a plaque to Mr. Craig Johnson, K-B Farms Manager, who represented the landowners.
