On June 20 the Leaf River Soaring Eagles 4-H Club explored the wonderful Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford. As a club we have been studying the country of Japan so we decided to visit these Japanese gardens to learn more about the culture of Japan. Every Japanese garden includes three elements: water, plants and rocks.
Anderson Japanese Gardens are one of two best Japanese gardens in America. Following our time in the gardens, we ate at Shogun, a Japanese restaurant. The chef cooked our food right in front of us on a big grill. He did some funny tricks and entertained us. Our group has learned more about Japan and appreciates their unique culture.
