Matthew C. Scaro, an Illinois Libertarian, has announced his intention to run for the office of Governor of Illinois in the 2018 general election. “I don’t think the people have a Conservative choice this year. I think I am the only Conservative choice.
“We have to stop raising taxes. There should be a 1 per cent property tax cap and properties should only be assessed at point of sale with comparable properties, not annually.
“Mike Madigan is a parasite and I will straighten him out. I vow to hold him accountable.”
Matthew has promised to make Illinois’ economy healthy and viable again. This includes cutting expenditures, reforming the pension system, reforming Medicaid and lowering taxes. Matthew believes this is the only way to reverse the state’s outbound migration crisis and bring new jobs back.
“One in five people were on Medicaid under Obama-care when Pat Quinn signed it into Illinois law. Today one in three people are on Medicaid. It is costing Illinois $1.2 billion a month. It is bankrupting the State. Doctors do not get paid in a timely manner. It takes a year for them to get paid. People are dying to get on the Medicare waiting list. Medicare should be here to serve our most vulnerable only.
“For pension reform, we need to create a Tier 3 pension system for all new hires, a 401K style, self-managed plan combined with an annuity-like (fixed monthly payment) benefit. If people are scared that they will not continue to receive their pension, they will be allowed to buy out their plan at a discounted rate. Those funds will be placed in a self-directed IRA with no tax implications.
“We need to delete compounding cost of living adjustments to general revenue funded pensions. At the current rate these are made, pensions more than double in 20 years.
“I support full marijuana legalization so farmers can grow medical hemp.”
Scaro supports fully legalizing marijuana. He is a stout adversary of prohibition believing that the state has no place dictating morality or imprisoning citizens for victim-less crimes. Matthew has sworn to pardon any prisoner incarcerated for marijuana. He believes industrial hemp could bring in over $7 Billion in annual revenue for farmers and that Illinois could be a leader in the area of domestic production.
“I am pro Second Amendment. I believe guns are for shooting tyrants.”
Scaro views abortion and the death penalty as a violation by the state of the Non-aggression principle. As Governor, he would fight daily to stop taxpayer dollars from funding abortions, ending partial birth abortions, and instituting a brain-wave standard for the legalization of abortion in Illinois.
Matthew C. Scaro, 34, is a serial entrepreneur, a journalist, and traveler. In less than two years, he turned an idea and $1000 into a small business with operations in three states. He is currently the founder and CEO of a web & software development company, Dividend Marketing Inc.
Scaro considers himself an optimist, a free-market capitalist and a patriot. He has a passion for health, believes in self-ownership, personal responsibility, and the non-aggression principle.
