 Aldermen approved the rehiring of City Attorneys and Special Prosecutor at the Dec. 19 City Council meeting (Hinshaw and Culbertson).

In conjunction with a mandate from the State of Illinois Legislative branch, an ordinance was approved regulating reimbursement of all City employees and officers regarding travel, meals, and lodging expenses. The mandate applies to all non-home rule municipalities.

As presented Dec. 12, a total of $14,715.27 in water bills, and $200,524.42 in general fund and all other bills was approved for payment.

Approval to an agreement with the City was given to GTE Verizon Wireless for a tower at the Police Department.

Police calls for the week of Dec. 11-17 totaled 499, 123 arrests, and 19 accidents.

Per the Dec. 18 Fire Department Report, one false fire alarm call, one fire alarm call, four carbon monoxide or gas leak calls, one public service call, one mutual aid call, and three smoke or odor investigation calls were reported for the previous week.

Due to the holiday schedule, the next City Council meeting is set for Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
