At the Aug. 1 Loves Park City Council meeting, aldermen gave the okay to authorize a total of $1,343,859.14 for the city’s annual maintenance program.

A resolution was approved for analysis, radium removal, transport and disposal of waste from Water Wells Nos. 4,5 and 6. Solutient Technologies, LLC of Canton, Ohio will do the work at a cost not to exceed $72,191.

The police chief was authorized to purchase three Panasonic “Toughbook 31” laptops through State of Illinois vendor pricing from CDS Office Technologies in Springfield at a cost not exceed $11,016 for the three computers.

A resolution approving up to $750 for the city’s RAMP (handicapped accessible) program was passed.

Another resolution, this one authorizing the city to go out for negotiated bids to purchase traffic barricades, was okayed.

Alderman Clint Little gave the weekly police activity report for the week of July 24-30, The department had 749 calls for service, responded to 10 accidents, and made 256 arrest during the week. On the weekly fire department report dated July 31, five fire alarm calls, one mutual aid call, two wires down calls, and two public service calls were tallied.

The council approved payment of $27,229.18 in water department bills, and $435,170.11 in general fund and all other bills, as presented July 25.
