Quilt Exhibit will be now through Feb. 29 at the Woodstock Opera House. Nine antique quilts from the McHenry County Historical Society’s collection will be on display. The quilts, dating from the 1860s through 1950s, are available for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon. through Thurs., and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fri. and Sat., in the Community Room gallery. Gifts of Nature Art Exhibit will be now through Feb. 7 at Glacial Park – Lost Valley Visitor Center. There will be an artist reception Sun., Jan. 17 from 1 – 3 p.m. Award – winning artist Lori Indovina-Valus presents some of her fine art/watercolors in this delightful exhibit that captures the beauty that is all around us. Get Lit(erary) will be at 7 p.m. at Le Petit Marche, a café and bistro across from The Raue Center that holds a reading series based around monthly themes. Come enjoy some wine, cheese, and dinner while you watch and listen to some of our favorite works!

Royal Bunco Bash will be at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake at 6 p.m. Three McHenry County nonprofit organizations – Adult & Child Therapy Services (ACTS), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA) – are now taking registrations for their 7th annual Royal Bunco Bash. WSR Improv will be at 8:30 p.m. at The Raue Center. It is $10 for each show at the door. With a set based entirely on audience suggestions and participation, the WSR Improv Troupe packs more laughs per minute in a single hour than most people can produce in a lifetime.
Sketch Comedy will be at The Raue Center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. WSR Improv will be putting on a slightly-scripted, podcastified, multi-formatted comedy extravaganza. Part comedy, part drama, part whatever-happens, part genius show an hour and a half before the improve show every Third Thursday night.
Candice Millard will be at the Woodstock Opera House at 10 a.m. “Destiny of the Republic” is a meticulously researched account of James Garfield’s rise from poverty to the American Presidency, his assassination and the dramatic struggle to save his life.
