Paint and Sip will be from 6 – 8 p.m. at Savour Gallery Algonquin, 302 S. Main Street, Algonquin. Paint & Sip features instruction by InnoKreative Arts on painting a ceramic martini glass. Tropixplosion will be at 7:30 p.m. at The Listening Room. Tropixplosion will be performing great island music with lots of percussion featuring the amazing Meg Thomas on everything you can hit, Big Bill Grant on steel drums, vocals by Liz Chidester, nominated Best Female Vocalist of the Chicago Music Awards, the flying fingers of Paul Willaert on guitar, it’s all about that bass Dr. Jeff Bella, Jeff Money on drums, and Roger Reupert on trumpet. Tickets are $18 in advance or $23 at the door.
Quilt Exhibit will be now through Feb. 29 at the Woodstock Opera House. Nine antique quilts from the McHenry County Historical Society’s collection will be on display. The quilts, dating from the 1860s through 1950s, are available for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon. through Thurs. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fri. and Sat. Evening of Percussion will be at 7 p.m. at the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake. Packed with energy and excitement, this event features performances by the Crystal Lake Strikers All-Star Drumline _ comprised of adult drummers as well as talented high school drummers from our community. Poetry Night will be at 8 p.m. at the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake. Poet and puppeteer, Phil C. Denofrio, has recently been elected by Raue Center for the Arts to fulfill the newly created role of Poet in Residence. Mr. Denofrio’s duties are to host several poetry nights: scheduled on the fourth Mon. of every other month and open mics over the course of the next two years.
