Misty Chipalla has attended both Oktoberfests in Rockton. “It was a great day spent with good friends, great beer and an opportunity to meet lots of new people,” she said. “We could not have asked for a better day. The event is a lot of work. But, seeing it all come together is a great feeling,” said co-chair Brian Hansmeier. “We are hoping to get the word out about the great events happening in Rockton. While the Hanz Brew Fest is set up to raise funds for the Todd Hansmeier Memorial Scholarship fund we have chosen to pick a different charity to give back to each year. This year we chose youth sports.” Volunteers worked in various capacities from the Macktown Warriors, Rockton Lion’s Club and the overall community.
“We couldn’t make these events happen without these great volunteers, our sponsors and the community support that has been shown,” said Hansmeier.
Patrons brought canned goods to be donated to the Old Stone Church Food Pantry. All proceeds from this year’s Midwest Oktoberfest will benefit all local non-profit youth athletic programs.
