BELVIDERE – On Saturday, April 30, Applebee’s Restaurant was packed with supporters of the Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR) organization.
For only $5, community members could enjoy a pancake breakfast with a side of bacon to support the Belvidere Park District’s NASR organization.
The meal began with exceptional treatment for each patron who attended the event. Members of the NASR organization would greet patrons at the door and then sit them at a table or booth. NASR members also served drinks and the pancake breakfast.
The Applebee’s Restaurant was all a buzz with conversation and smiles from enjoying good food and good company with the NASR organization.
NASR conducted the pancake breakfast fundraiser to raise money for their special recreations, such as equipment for training and traveling to the Special Olympics.
About NASR
Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR) is a cooperative partnership between the Belvidere, Freeport, and Rockford Park Districts (referred to as a member district).
NASR programs are open to any individual with a disability-related special need such as physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, and persons with mental illness, behavior disorders, visual or hearing impairments.
Member district residents are invited to participate in specialty/therapeutic (TR) programs offered through any member district at the resident rate.
For participation in inclusion services at a member district other than your own, you must pay the non-resident rate for that specific program.
