With summer well underway, car enthusiast throughout the Stateline area will be flocking to Boone County for cruise nights and car shows galore.

The fun cruised into Belvidere on Saturday, July 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Belvidere.

The annual Belvidere Cruise Night took place in the big parking lot joining PNC Bank, located at 130 S. State St. in Belvidere, and the Salvation Army, located at 112 S. State St. in Belvidere.

About 50 old cars filled the adjoining parking lots on the Saturday evening event.

The evening was come and go as you please, so cars rolled in and out throughout the hot summer night.

Many other cars and patrons entered into the vicinity to take a look back in time at the cars of yesteryear.

The event has been going strong for 41 years, with the first Belvidere Cruise Night starting in 1975.
