At the Oct. 3 Loves Park City Council meeting, Aldermen approved ordinances, first reading, “setting the salary…or salaries of Aldermen, the City Treasurer, the City Clerk, and the Mayor” for upcoming four-year terms. Alderman will be paid $225 per meeting from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2021. The City Treasurer and City Clerk, salaries at $75,505 for that time period, will receive two percent raises each year. The Mayor will be paid at the “frozen” amount of $93,363 annually.

Another item voted on, also first reading, was approved for “a zoning map amendment from Commercial Office Zoning (CO) to Single-family Residential Zoning (R1) for property located at 1000 Windsor Road.” As presented Sept. 26, the Council approved payment of $18,238.79 in water fund bills, and $643,487.61 in general fund and all other bills.

Alderman Clint Little gave the weekly Police activity report for the week of Sept. 25 – Oct. 1 in which the department received 626 calls for service, made 306 arrests, and responded to 15 accidents. On the weekly Fire Department report dated Oct. 2, one mutual aid call, one odor investigation call, one oil or gas spill call and five fire alarm calls were logged.
