Police investigate home invasion in Cherry Valley
CHERRY VALLEY – On Tuesday, Oct. 6, shortly after 9 p.m., Patrol Officers from the Cherry Valley Police Department responded to residence in the 700 block of Clayton St., in reference to a home invasion.
The female victim told officers that she heard her unlocked front door open and thought it was her son coming home. She was confronted by a black male who threatened her at gunpoint and demanded money.
A second unknown suspect was heard talking to the black male from the hallway. The suspects then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The first suspect is described as a black male, mid-20s, approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall, wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans, and possibly white shoes. The suspect also had what the victim described as an injury or deformity to his left eye that he was trying to cover with the hood of his sweatshirt.
Detectives from the Cherry Valley Police Department are conducting a follow up investigation into this incident.
