October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Real Men Wear Pink competition between Boone and Winnebago Counties to raise funds for the American Cancer Society is on once again.
Two years ago Mayor Mike Chamberlain was the sole representative from Boone County while Winnebago County fielded five candidates of their own to raise funds. Mayor Mike, with the full support of Belvidere, Boone County, and the help of the Belvidere Education Foundation, was able to raise $5965 in donations. Chief Woody met a lady by the name of Nancy at the American Cancer Society kickoff breakfast. She is currently fighting breast cancer and has taken the fight to the disease. Together they are trying to raise as much money to fight breast cancer as they can. Come out to any of Chief Woody’s events to support Linda in this fight and share in her story.
If you can find it in your hearts and wallets to donate, please see Chief Woody’s campaign page at https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR/…. “All of you can help by getting the word out by sharing this information and increase our donation power 10 fold. My campaign page says my goal is $2500 dollars but actually I am trying to come up with at least $5000 in donations. Go big or go home, right!” said Chief Woody. “All those who donate will have the opportunity to…
