Roscoe Lions Club donates 342 pairs of eyeglasses to Sight and Hearing Center

ROSCOE – On Friday, Sept. 25, Rhonda and Bill Tierney, members of the Roscoe Lions Club, delivered 342 pairs of used eyeglasses to the Rockford Center for Sight and Hearing, 8038 MacIntosh Lane, Rockford.
Tom Lasley, Business Development Director at the Center accepted the donation.
Proceeds from the annual Lions Club Fall Festival funds several philanthropic organizations each year. The organization donates $5,000 in scholarships to Roscoe students graduating from Hononegah High School.
In addition, the Lions Club donates to Vets Roll; Stateline Crop Walk; Senior Center Turkey Dinner; Lions of Illinois Foundation – Candy Day; American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois; Boy Scout Troop #620 of Northern Illinois and the Roscoe Easter Egg Hunt.
Additional recipients are: Boy Scout Troop #643 – summer camp; Fishing Derby; Fairdale Tornado Fund; Kinnikinnick School District Special Education and the Winnebago County 4-H Club.
