Summerfield Zoo hosts Zooapalooza to raise money after tornado
BELVIDERE – Just a few months back a tornado touched down and hit the Summerfield Zoo. It not only killed some of the animals there but it wrecked buildings, enclosures, and fences.
In order to raise more funds to keep the Summerfield Zoo afloat, the Summerfield Zoo will host Zooapalooza.
This fundraising event will take place at Take 20 located at 438 U.S. Highway 20 on the border of Belvidere and Cherry Valley. Zooapalooza will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. on Friday, July 31 to Saturday, Aug. 1.
There fundraising event will feature performances by Chad Foster, Kenzie and Mike, Devolve, Genotype, Reckless Redemption, Faith In Vain, and Off The Grid.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the music will begin at 6:45 p.m.
All that is requested it that patrons give a $5 donation at the door which will benefit the Summerfield Zoo.
Along with the musical entertainment, there will be a 50/50 raffle, prizes will be raffled off, and there will be awesome live music.
The event is perfect for all age so come out and enjoy great music for a great cause.
