BYRON – Super Bowl Champion, and Byron native, Sean Considine has stayed busy since his retirement from the NFL. The Tempo was able to catch up with him recently at ReStore in Rockford during one of his many weekly appearances since his retirement from the NFL.
ReStore is a store located at North Towne Mall in Rockford that is a part of Habitat for Humanity in Winnebago County. The store gathers items from local contractors who donate the items for resale from projects the contractors have worked on.
The store has grown over the years and expanded into a newer, larger location in North Towne Mall. This past weekend, on Saturday, April 2, the store decided to have a Grand Re-Opening to mark advances in business and asked Sean to be a part of it.
Sean was more than happy to oblige.
“I attend events weekly,” exclaimed Sean.
Besides his many appearances, Sean also keeps his meat selling business going in Byron and was recently hired on full-time with Lawson Products, a business that sells repair and maintenance products.
This is all in addition to helping raise his five offspring in Byron.
Sean remains true to his roots, as he has even taken on the responsibility of being an assistant coach for the Byron Tigers High School football team.
Sean’s Super Bowl ring was really big and blingy and he displayed it for those who wanted to see it that day. It was even too big for my thumb as I tried it on and had a picture taken with him. And to think there were other players with much bigger fingers than his!
Sean has kept in contact with a few of his Baltimore Raven teammates since he retired, mostly those that share his compassion for hunting and the outdoors.
Sean will more than likely be occupied with many more requests for appearances in the years to come. It so neat to see a local boy who has done something so special.
