The SwedishAmerican Foundation once again hosted nursing students and their instructors from Lidkoping High School in Sweden for two weeks. As noted by Linnea Bengstsson, Lidkoping Municipality International Business Developer, “We are celebrating a 10-year global partnership with Rockford and are very happy to have these students with us. Last year a delegation from Rockford went to Lidkoping.” SwedishAmerican Health System President and CEO, Bill Gorski, MD, said, “It is such a pleasure to have these students with us. We all have a common interest in helping people along their health journey.” Lidkoping De La Gardie Gymnasiet High School has sent a total of 31 students in five trips to SwedishAmerican Health System over the past decade. Lidkoping is located in southern Sweden and as of 2010 had a population of over 104,000 residents. The students not only were present for some surgery and births while here but also toured the Erlander Home Museum in Rockford, visited Chicago and attended a football game.
