SwedishAmerican holds opening ceremonies for new laboratory
SwedishAmerican celebrated the opening of its new state-of-the-art Special Procedures Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) expansion today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and staff open house celebration.
SwedishAmerican board members, leaders and staff gathered to announce the opening of the Cath Lab, which will be used to perform interventional cardiology, interventional radiology and peripheral vascular procedures.
“On average, SwedishAmerican currently sees more than 4,000 cases each year in the Cath Lab,” said SwedishAmerican Medical Director Dr. Yaser Siraj. “With the new Cath Lab expansion, we will now be able to treat even more patients each year and utilize this increased technology to deliver high quality cardiovascular and interventional services to our patients.”
Construction began on the Cath Lab expansion in July of 2018. Located on the second floor of the downtown hospital campus, the 12,000-foot expansion cost $7.9 million for construction and $5 million for equipment.
