South Beloit Police Chief Pat Hoey had a busy night of it during the May 7 city council meeting. A “gratitude plaque” was presented, first of all, to retiring Police Officer Sandy Messenger. Next, a gratitude plaque was given to Ricki Schrupp for “lifesaving heroics.”
Two new police officers were sworn in by City Clerk Tracy Patrick: Cameron Monyelle and Martin Oswald.
Information provided by Chief Joey notes that Monyelle “is a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and attended Blackhawk Technical College before transferring to UW Platteville where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. For the past seven years Monyelle worked as a loss prevention agent at the Beloit Menards.”
