Veterans Honor Guard

“The VFW Honor Guard is an assemblage of Veterans and Auxiliary members who predominantly pay honors for military members,” said John Darley, VFW service officer.
“We will do a 21-gun salute, play taps, and do the presentation of the ceremonial American flag to family members at funerals. The funeral home will have a flag draped over the deceased veteran’s casket and we will tri-fold the flag and present it to the relatives. During parades and ceremonies, we carry flags and rifles.
“The Honor Guard is made up of honorably discharged Veterans and direct auxiliary members (mother, father, or spouse of a Service member). This is an all-volunteer group who live to honor our veterans however we can. It is not solely for the VFW, though, we work in conjunction with the American Legion as well.”
