VetsRoll is sending more veterans to Washington D.C.

Mark Finnegan represented the VetsRoll organization at the Capron Firemen’s Breakfast on March 10.
“This is our ninth year of operation and we will be sending our 1750th veteran/Rosie the Riveter to Washington D.C. We have them coming from 16 different states to go on the trip May 20 to 23.
“All four days of the trip are completely free for to the veterans and Rosies. We fundraise all year long to be able to give them closure, gratitude, and respect. A lot of them never even got thanked for their service.
“The sendoff and the homecoming are incredible. Several hundred motorcycles escort them from South Beloit to the airport and the police will create a rolling closure along I-90, 39, and Harrison for them. So far, we [Northern Illinois] have 30 World War II vets and Rosies going on this trip.
“VetsRoll exists because of the support of the public. All our money is collected from the private sector to honor our vets/Rosies. No tax money is involved.”
The American veteran is one of our greatest treasures – the men and women who answered our nation’s call, especially at times of our greatest need. At VetsRoll, Inc., our mission is to thank and pay tribute to these heroes – especially our World War II, Korea, and most senior Veterans and Rosie the Riveters – by transporting them to Washington D.C. over four days of honor and remembrance, at no cost to our heroes.
There is no time to waste; we are losing our senior veterans at a rate of 900 to 1000 per day. These heroes are now in their seventies to their mid-nineties and time is not on their side.
VetsRoll 2018 will mark the 1765th Veteran and Rosie to take this memorable journey to see their memorials in Washington D.C. The War Memorials there were built as tributes to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of America’s veterans.
