Vivian G. Smith, 90
HARVARD – Vivian G. Smith, 90, of Harvard, Ill. passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, May 31 at her farm in Harvard, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 24, 1925, in Belvidere to William and Gladys (Pundt) Armbruster.
Vivian was a book keeper and a farmer. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. She was also a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Belvidere and the Women of the Moose in Harvard.
Vivian loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included cards, puzzles, and flower gardening. She also enjoyed bird watching.
Vivian is survived by her children, Dona (Darryll) Russell, Wayne (Elaine) Smith, Dale (Connie) Smith; grandchildren, Angela Nicol, Brian Russell, Ryan Russell, Kristina (Chrisopher) Nacke, Stephanie Smith, Shawna Smith, Crystal (Brace) Weeks, and Ashley (Wesley) Firlick. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Elyanna and Paxton Nicol, Jeremiah Russell, Brookelynn and Katelynn Weeks, Conner, Olivia, and Avery Firlick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; brothers, William, Robert, and John Armbruster; and a sister in infancy.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. in Belvidere with Reverend Muriel Morley Jahn officiating.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment was at Highland Garden of Memories.
