Warrant issued for William Jones, suspect in Pinnon’s murder
On Jan. 11, at around 3:18 p.m., Rockford Police Officers responded to Pinnon’s, 2324 N. Court St., for a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 63-year-old Peggy Anderson, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Rockford Police Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to identify the suspect as William Jones. After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the charges listed below for Jones, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued. He is not in custody at this time.
William Jones, 40, has been charged with First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery
The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
