The First United Methodist Church, located at 610 Bonus Ave. in Belvidere, will host their Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon. The bake sale and bazaar will occur from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Ham Ball Luncheon will occur from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and will be available at the door, or can be purchased over the phone by calling (815) 544-3479.

Meyer’s Tails Up Farm and Nellie’s Barn Sales are teaming up to host Christmas on the Farm shopping experience. The event will take place at Meyer’s located at 5390 Irene Road in Belvidere from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The entrance cost is $5 per person. The St. John’s UCC, located at 401 North Main St. in Belvidere, will hold their Christmas Bazaar Craft and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bazaar will feature crafts, dolls, cemetery decorations, homemade pies, cookies, and more. The Christmas Café will serve chili, soup, pie, rolls, and free coffee. There will also be raffle tickets available for $1 each or six for $5.

 

Saturday, Nov. 7

The Belvidere High School Girls Swimming and Diving varsity teams will compete in the Varsity NIC-10 Conference at the Harlem High School pool.

wine1The Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum will host a Holiday Wine Tasting from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the museum. Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 ahead of time. Reserve tickets at (815) 547-3115 by Nov. 3.

Sunday, Nov. 8

movieThe Belvidere Park District is hosting a Fall Classic Film Series. It is a free night of cinematic fun. Chairs are provided, but people can bring a blanket or lawn chairs for comfort. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. The classic movie this week is the Milo and Otis which will play at the Rivers Edge Recreation Center Gym at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Genoa Community Women’s Club presents the 27th annual Wonderful World of Christmas Craft/Vendor Show. The show will take place at Genoa-Kingston High School, just west of Genoa on Route 72. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children/students. The shows include over 140 local and out of town, crafters, vendors, clubs, organizations, food, and 100 door prizes. Plus, Santa will be there from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Genoa Community Women’s Club College Scholarship fund.

Flora Grange will host their annual roastxmas2 beef dinner fundraiser, with one dinner occurring at 11:30 a.m. and the next occurring at 12:45 p.m. The dinner will take place at Flora Grange Hall located at 2105 Stone Quarry Road.
