The Belvidere Boys football sophomore team will face Guilford High School at Guilford at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 7:15 p.m. The junior varsity cheerleaders will cheer for the sophomore game and the varsity cheerleaders will cheer at the varsity game.
The Belvidere junior varsity and varsity girls’ tennis teams will play in the NIC-10 Conference at Harlem High School.
North Boone School District will host a “Meet and Greet” to introduce the new Administrative team. Please join us outside the Upper Elementary from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet our new Administrators and enjoy ice cream and cupcakes. It is also Senior Night at the High School, so please stop by the game and cheer on the Vikings!

The Belvidere High School Girls Swimming and Diving varsity teams will compete in the Auburn invite at the Auburn High School pool at 11 a.m.
The Belvidere girls’ varsity tennis team will compete at the NIC-10 Conference at Harlem High School.
The Belvidere High School varsity boys’ soccer team will compete in the Belvidere Bucs Varsity Soccer Classic at Belvidere HS and BSMS at 9 a.m.
Bergstrom Inc. and The Salvation Army have collaborated to invite all area veterans, active military, and the Rockford community to attend: Stars and Stripes: A Salute to Our Veterans. This event will include live entertainment and ceremonial moments that recognize the men and women who have stood tall in service to this great country. The guest speaker for the event will be General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.). The event will occur from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the BMO Harris Bank Center located at 300 Elm St. in Rockford. This is a free event open to the general public with first priority attendance given to veterans and their guests. An RSVP is required to receive tickets for entry. The Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum in Poplar Grove is featuring a Trains, Planes, and Automobiles. The show will highlight the Model Train Show. The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the event. Admission for adults is $5, for seniors: $4, for kids aged seven to 17: $3, for a family: $12 and members get in free. The Daughters of the American Revolution’s Asa Cottrell Chapter of Boone County will be joining EAA on Oct. 11 for our Veterans’ Breakfast to recognize our veterans, particularly those who served in the Vietnam War. The breakfast will take place at Poplar Grove Airport from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Breakfast is $7 for adults, $4 for kids, and vets eat free. There will also be plane rides from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Blaine Cemetery Association will meet at 1 p.m. at the LeRoy Township Hall for their fall meeting.
