After about a month off of bowling for the holiday season, the youth bowlers returned to Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere, on Saturday, Jan. 7, with scores even higher than ever. The break only seemed to help the young bowlers improve instead of hindering their track records.

Time will tell if the dedication of each bowler was high enough to continue this upward trend in high scores from each of the youth bowlers. Overall statistical results will be available at the end of the 2016-2017 season, which will come to a close at the end of the school year.

As for now, the junior bowlers have been keeping steady with the upward spike in scores starting with Angelica Robles in the Bantams league. She finished Saturday with a high score of 84 and a high series of 162.

Also scoring big in the Bantams league was Mason Kahl who ended with a 124 game and a 241 series.

Scores continued to get better with the older bowlers. In the Preps Division, Mollie Jones had the highest score for the girls with a 105 game and a 288 series. For the boys, Coby Parks took the highest position with a 148 game and a 388 series.

Finally, racking in the highest scores of all were the three bowlers in the Junior/Majors League.

Starting off with the highest game for the boys was Parker Morris with a 146. The highest series for the boys came in from Colton Parks who totaled a 401.

For the girls, Danielle Heinz had the highest game and the highest series. She finished Saturday’s game play with a 172 high scoring game and a 467 series, claiming the top spot of all of the bowlers in the Saturday Junior Bowling League.

These youth bowlers will meet again on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere.
