For the past week, there has been a steady stream of customers taking advantage of the 25 to 50 percent discount sales at ZaZu Gifts Co, 11013 Main St. in Roscoe. After five years in business, the popular gift store is permanently going out of business. Owner April Kruse decided it was time to close the popular gift shop for health reasons.

“I will be having several surgical procedures in the near future and didn’t want the stress of running a store on my mind,” Kruse said. Kruse’s husband David Hernandez will be moving his Direct Value furniture business to the 6,000 sq. ft. ZaZu site. Direct Value is currently located in the Roscoe Center.

According to Kruse, some accessories and gift items will be incorporated into the furniture store. Kruse is looking forward to working with her husband following her recuperation.
