McCarty has the background of growing up in a family in Tennessee that owns an orchard. He has a deep understanding of fruit trees, pruning, diseases, and the pests the trees suffer from. He was able to provide a great deal of information

“All the proceeds go to benefit the B1 food pantry,” said Kristen Smith, event organizer. “We serve about 1200 people each month. We also hold a Senior Pantry from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Sheffield for the residents.

These are names which will forever be linked to the Belvidere Tornado of 1967 in which they lost their lives. Survivors of that day still bear the mental, emotional, and physical scars of their terrifying experience with an EF4 strength force of nature.
